Shane Walsh is the best friend of Rick Grimes and was also a sheriff in the Atlanta sheriffs department. Shane was also another survivor in Rick's team but when Rick was missing at the start of the apocalypse Shane became too fond of Lori and Carl and he became to dangerous to be on the team. Rick and Shane have clashed with each other a couple times. Lori tells Rick that Shane is too dangerous to be on the camp so Rick has no choice but to kill him. Now Shane is gone and the Atlanta survivor camp have now moved on from Shane's death by Rick.
